Aluminum Molds for Structural Foam Water Containers Serving the Housing Industry

At Snider Mold Company, our plant has deep milling capabilities to tool large aluminum products that are vital to industries worldwide. A perfect example of this are these aluminum structural foam molds that were created for water containers for the housing industry in Sao Paulo, Brazil. These molds were used to produce water containers that cover 500 to 1000 liter tanks. We used our quality high-speed 5-axis Fidia K211 CNC machining system to fabricate these molds for this building and housing industry application.

Using customer specifications, our engineering team aided with the mold design and concept for these pieces. We employed our advanced CNC machining, milling, drilling, contour cutting, boring, EDM, and 5-axis contour milling the aluminum molds to tolerances of ± 0.003″. As demonstrated by the attached photo illustrations, these products were of impressive size, with the final dimensions of the products including length of 120″, width of 85″, height of 65″, 1 to 3 mold cavities and an estimated tool weight of 40,000 lbs. These structural foam/web molds were finished with SPI tool surface finish, and made to high quality standards. We employed first piece inspections and functionality testing throughout the process, all with an 18 week turnaround time.
